A Beautiful Escape

My best vacation is somewhere I could hide, somewhere warm and not a lot of people around.

-Derek Jeter
Hi there!
I don’t know how many of you know this but life of a blogger is pretty crazy. From shooting everyday to editing and handling your social media, you don’t even get weekends off. Moreover even while we are on a vacation, we still think about shooting our outfits in pretty locations and posting them to keep you guys updated. Recently my parents pushed me to go for a vacation on Kerala and Lakshadweep. At first I was a little hesitant as I thought that I won’t get coverage in Lakshadweep and I had no idea what sort of remote area its in. But trust me, this was the most amazing vacation I have had and for the first time in my blogging career, I had no coverage and it was just the most peaceful escape I had! Not that I didn’t miss you guys! You all are my world!
Here is a blog post featuring glimpses of my vacation and my outfits and I hope by the end of this post, you would want to escape from your hectic life just like me and spend some quality time with yourself.
FLIGHT from Delhi to Kochi
We started our journey from Delhi and landed in Kochi on 19th Dec’15. After landing I clicked a couple of pictures of my outfit to show you what a comfortable traveling outfit for me is. I am wearing my ripped denims from Zara, a sporty tee from Jabong, jacket from Reebok and a comfy pair of sneakers from Promod. I believe reflector sunglasses, specially in blue and purple are perfect for vacations. They look pretty rad when you go to a beach. So I carried mine along.
KERALA: The Backwaters
It was warm and there was a lot of moisture in the air. My dad being in army booked us a Army Guestroom which had the most beautiful view of a huge lake at the center of the city. Since I ended up breaking my phone on the first day of my vacation, I believed that it was god’s way of telling me to leave everything behind for once and live in the moment! We took a cab and reached Alappuzha where we booked ourselves a beautiful house boat for a couple of hours to cruise over the backwaters of Kerala. The houseboat was absolutely amazing with a nice big room and all other amenities. The crew of the boat prepared an amazing meal for us and cooked some fresh fish. The food was unbelievably tasty and it was the best fish I had ever tasted. We had good food on the houseboat, saw some fishes diving in the water, passed through a couple of other houseboats were people were staying and saw the sunset. Imagine watching the sunset while resting in the houseboat in the middle of the backwaters! It’s Awesomeness! I wore a really gorgeous purple tube maxi from Candidly Couture.
On 21st Dec, we spend the day trying to get my phone fixed but it was a failed attempt and we ended up taking a long walk along the marine drive of Kochi. Yes! There is a marine drive there too! I wore a pair of black high waist denims from Singapore with a crop top from House Of Pink.

FLIGHT from Kochi to Agatti Island, Lakshadweep
On 23rd Dec we took our flight from Delhi to Lakshadweep. There is only one little chartered Air India plane that operates from Kochi to Lakshadweep once a day. It did make a lot of sound and was very compact but it was fun traveling in it. It flies really slow so took us an hour to finally get a glimpse of the beautiful Agatti Island Airport in the middle of the Arabian Sea. You can see a picture of the air strip on the island below and trust me it’s just a narrow stretch of land in the middle of nowhere! Imagine how beautiful the landing on that island must have been for us.
BOAT from Agatti Island to Thinnakara Island
There are very limited accommodations on those islands and very few people end up going there. Agatti Island is the main island with a lot of construction going on and nice guestrooms with a/c and everything but we wanted to live among the nature and away from the commercial area so planned to stay on a nearby island called Thinnakara Island. For that we had to travel in a small speed boat from Agatti for over an hour and we happened to see the sunset again but this time we were in the middle of Arabian Sea.

STAY at Thinnakara Island
Thinnakara Island is just a small 2 km big island and it just has a couple of tent rooms for people to stay and a dining area where we all could assemble and eat. We got one of the corner tents which was right besides the beach. It was literally like staying on one of your own private islands with barely 2-3 more families there and very helpful staff who served us food there. We could take our own kayaks and go rowing around the island, go explore the center of the island with thick jungle, sleep on the beach side and watch the sunset everyday. The staff there served us fresh fish everyday and we had our food while sitting with our feet half dipped in water. We played beach volleyball, played with frisbee, did snorkeling where they showed us a wretched ship, caught big ass turtles, touched starfish and went for a glass boat ride which has a glass bottom to see the corals.

Here are some of my outfit pictures!

 Outfit Details:
Pink Gown- House Of Pink
Orange Jumpsuit- Candidly Couture
White Jumpsuit- House of Pink
Lips Crop Top- House of Pink
Our trip came to an end eventually and trust me I had the most amazing
and peaceful time. Lakshadweep is absolutely beautiful. We lived in
tents with no a/c, bathed in sea water, had fresh fish for food everyday
and kept ourselves away from phones! It was the most beautiful escape I
had in a long long time. And guys trust me Lakshadweep is nothing less
that Mauritius and Maldives. You guys should really explore your own
country first and then sing praises for other countries.
