Plan A Trip To Mauritius
One’s destination is never a place, but always a new way of seeing things.
I have been reading an amazing book called Ikigai which is about Japanese secret to a long and happy life. It talks about how you need to find your purpose in life which is your Ikigai and mine is definitely Travelling. I am the happiest when I am exploring new places and creating quality content. I recently planned a trip to Mauritius and had an incredible time. Mauritius is known for its beaches, lagoons and reefs. The mountainous interior of Mauritius includes Black River Gorges National Park, with rainforests, waterfalls, hiking trails, wildlife like the flying fox and much more!
North Mauritius is known as the most happening place but we planned on staying at west Mauritius near the black river on the Tamarin beach to have a quiet holiday with more areas to explore at the outskirts. We booked Airbnb and stayed at this gorgeous beach villa called Esplanade by Horizon Holidays which had its own infinity pool as well. We had an entire villa to ourselves with 3 bedrooms and 3 baths. It was an apartment but we had house cleaning services provided to us. Check out the view from our villa in the pictures. We used to wake up early morning at 6 and go along the beach for a walk. You could also sit with your cocktails at the pool and witness the beautiful sunset of Mauritius.
Let’s talk about a few awesome things you can do in Mauritius. There are a lot of amazing places to hike and trek there so don’t forget to pack a pair of comfy sport shoes if you are planning a vacation there. The weather during this time is pretty amazing. Its pleasant with a little bit of drizzling every now and then. There are a lot of pretty waterfalls there so you can hike and chill by a waterfall. One of the most famous spots is called 7 Cascades which literally means seven waterfalls. We hiked to one of the waterfalls but the flow was a little less due to the dry weather. Nonetheless, it was an amazing experience.
Another awesome thing to do in Mauritius is to go for swimming in the Indian Ocean with the dolphins. We went to Tamarin beach at 7:30 am, took a boat from there, went to find some dolphins in the ocean and did snorkelling with them. I was an incredible experience. The dolphins tease you and play with you. P.s we also got to see the blue whales! We got lucky and spotted 2 blue whales nearby and we got to swim really close to them. You don’t usually get to see blue whales but if you get lucky you would.
We also went for quad biking at Heritage Nature Reserve in Mauritius where we took the ATB bikes and went up a hill, got off the bikes, went trekking to a waterfall and came back. The quad bikes are so much fun to ride. Also, the view from the top of the mountain was pretty incredible.
You can also spend an entire day at Casela World of Adventures in Mauritius which lets you experience the wildlife in its natural habitat, makes you interact with lions, take you for a roller coaster ride and you can also go for quad biking in the nature reserve park where you can witness some amazing wildlife.
Apart from this we chilled at the beach, went to north of Mauritius for partying and had some amazing sea food.
Our last minute trip along with villa reservations, flight tickets, groceries, adventurous experiences and more costed about 90k per person. If you guys want to know anything more then leave a comment.
